Geographic Coverage
La cobertura geográfica comprende principalmente el nororiente colombiano, abarcando los departamentos de Santander (74.3% de los especímenes), Cesar (4.8%), Bolívar (3.0 %), Norte de Santander (2.7%), La Guajira (0.5%) y Amazonas (0.3%). De los 30 municipios representados, la mayoría de especímenes proviene de los municipios cercanos a Bucaramanga y del Magdalena Medio santandereano: Sabana de Torres (15.5 %), Bucaramanga (11.3%), Girón (4.9%), El Carmen de Chucurí (4.9%) y Tona (4.1%).

Taxonomic Coverage
En la colección de mastozoología se registraron 828 especímenes que se encuentran distribuidos en 9 órdenes, 33 familias, 97 géneros y 137 especies. El orden mejor representado es Chiroptera, con 476 especímenes y la familia es Phyllostomidae, con 358 especímenes.

Sampling Methods
Los artiodáctilos y carnívoros de mayor tamaño, así como la mayoría de especies de hábitos arbóreos se cazaron con armas de fuego. Los murciélagos se colectaron usando redes de niebla. Los mamíferos pequeños y medianos se colectaron con trampas tipo Sherman, Tomahawk y trampas de caída.
Study Extent | El origen de la gran mayoría de los especímenes es Santander, en menor medida hay colectas del Cesar, Bolívar y Norte de Santander y sólo 4 especímenes provienen de la Guajira y 2 del Amazonas. Las localidades únicas son en total 124, la mayoría del Magdalena Medio y de la vertiente occidental de la cordillera Oriental de Colombia, incluyendo bosques tropicales secos y húmedos. |

Quality Control | Para la nomenclatura más actualizada se siguieron los trabajos de Solari et al. (2013) y Ramírez-Chaves et al. (2016). La verificación taxonómica y de las distribuciones geográficas, sobre todo en grupos conflictivos como Chiroptera, Rodentia, Didelphimorphia y Lagomorpha, se realizó siguiendo los trabajos de Gardner (2007), Rossi et al. (2010), Solari et al. (2013), Patton et al. (2015), Díaz et al. (2016) y Ruedas et al. (2017) |
