Project Data
Este es el resultado de la iniciativa para la consolidación de una base de datos de registros georreferenciados de primates en el país. La convocatoria se desarrolló por la Asociación Primatológica Colombiana (APC) y con el apoyo del Instituto Alexander von Humboldt (IAvH), el Sistema de Información Biológica (SiB), y el Laboratorio de Ecología de Bosques Tropicales y Primatología (LEBTYP) de la Universidad de Los Andes.

Sampling Methods
La Asociación Primatológica Colombiana (APC) lideró dos convocatorias abiertas para el envío de registros georreferenciados de primates. Los autores enviaron plantillas de excel con los registros en el formato Darwin Core.

Quality Control | Los datos fueron enviados en plantillas de excel por los autores. A esta plantillas se les revisó y aplicó control de calidad mediante: excel, OpenRefine, QGIS y R. Todos los autores y archivos enviados tuvieron retroalimentación y acompañamiento con el fin de facilitar la participación y asegurar la calidad de los datos. Ajuste de vocabularios controlados en: Elementos de registros: basisOfRecord de acuerdo a la naturaleza de los datos; se documentaron comentarios del registro biológico en occurrenceRemarks Elementos temporales: eventDate, se documentan fechas originales en el elemento verbatimEventDate. Method step description:
- Los datos fueron revisados en varios niveles y por pasos. Inicialmente, se revisó la correcta documentación de los registros bajo el estándar Darwin Core y que la nomenclatura taxonómica estuviese actualizada con la lista de primates de Colombia 2016 suministrada por la APC. Luego se revisó la correspondencia de las coordenadas con la información geográfica cuando estuviese disponible con ayuda de SIG. Posteriormente se revisaron los registros de cada especie comparándola con las distribuciones conocidas o teóricas para ubicar posibles errores en la determinación. En caso de alguna inconsistencia en alguno de los anteriores pasos, esta se le comunicó al autor y se realizó seguimiento hasta que se solucionara la discrepancia.
