The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 1,940 records.
1 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. Taxonomic Coverage
Los ejemplares se encuentran identificados en gran medida hasta nivel de especie, un total de 1623 especímenes se encuentra identificado a nivel de familia y 2956 a nivel de género. La colección alberga el Paratipo de Chaetostoma formosae Ballen, 2011, colectado en Villanueva, finca La Victoria en el departamento de Casanare.

Sampling Methods
Los datos se limpiaron y depuraron teniendo en cuenta diferentes herramientas tanto para los datos geográficos como taxonómicos. En cuanto a los datos geográficos se utilizaron herramientas como el Geovisor de Consulta de Codificación de la Divipola, los datos taxonómicos se actualizaron teniendo en cuenta Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF).
| Study Extent | Los países de colecta de los ejemplares de la colección Ictiológica son principalmente de Colombia con una única excepción proveniente de Estados Unidos. Los departamentos de Colombia representados en la colección corresponden a Amazonas, Antioquia, Archipiélago de San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina, Atlántico, Bogotá, D.C., Bolívar, Boyacá, Caldas, Caquetá, Casanare, Cauca, Cesar, Chocó, Córdoba, Cundinamarca, Huila, La Guajira, Magdalena, Meta, Norte de Santander, Putumayo, Quindío, Santander, Tolima, Valle del Cauca y Vichada. |

Method step description:
- Se realizó el proceso de georreferenciación de 1085 ejemplares utilizando el software georeferencing Natural History Data. Adicionalmente, se corroboró la información consultando el Geovisor de Consulta de Codificación de la Divipola.
