Geographic Coverage
Los registros cubren gran parte del territorio del departamento de Nariño en el cual se diferencian tres provincias biogeográficas: Chocó, Norandina y un sector de la Amazonia (Hernández et al. 1992), once distritos biogeográficos y según Olson et al. (2001) ocho ecorregiones. La provincia del Chocó corresponde a la llanura pacífica y el piedemonte occidental de la cordillera Occidental. La provincia Norandina está representada por el macizo andino formado por las vertientes externas oriental y occidental de las cordilleras Central y Occidental, las cuencas interandinas, altiplanos y volcanes, lo mismo que los cañones y valles situados entre las dos cordilleras. La provincia Amazónica abarca el piedemonte amazónico de la cordillera centro-oriental (Corponariño 2002).
